Behind the Scenes of The Wolf of Wall Street

The movie that I choose to watch was The Wolf of Wall Street directed by Martin Scorsese. The film stars Leonardo Dicaprio, Margot Robbie, Jonah Hill, and Jordan Belfort. The way the film is shot is very interesting, and from this behind the scenes package, we can see the very difficult methods of the making of the movie. The behind the scenes package didn't discuss any of the problems they faced or how important their pre-production was, rather, it documented the making of each detailed scene in the film. The film relied heavily on their extras to pull each shot together. A majority of the film took place in an office building, which meant that they needed over a hundred extras, maybe more, to make each shot look as realistic as possible. There was also a scene that took place at a wedding which required an abundance of extras as well. The use of camera work was also very crucial when making this film. For the scene at the wedding after-party, the cameraman was being pushed on a track and was being followed by other crew people who were doing the lighting and the sound. Martin Scorsese did a great job directing each cast member in between takes. You can see him talking to them one on one, giving directions and making sure that they know what to do and are prepared. Overall, the making of this film required a lot of time, a long pre-production process, the right technology, and a great cast and very important crew.
